The Downtown Vacaville Business Improvement District (DVBID) is fired up and hot to host the 8th Annual Downtown Vacaville Rib & Chili Challenge Cook Off. Contestants will begin preparing their special recipes early that morning and judging will take place throughout the afternoon. The entrants will be judged on their chili (all styles welcomed) and ribs (pork). Event Opens @ 10 am Chili tasting for People's Choice opens at 12 pm to get a tasting kit for $5-judging starts at 1 pm and goes until the chili runs out (usually 60 to 90 minutes. There are only 200 kits being sold. No rib tasting as it's too costly for the contestants. There will be ribs and other BBQ for sale that day from vendors. People's Choice judging sign ups begin at 12:00 pm. Limited to 200. Judging begins at 1:00 pm and is over when chili runs out. There is no People's Choice judging on ribs due to cost involved.
