EARTH DAY SAN FRANCISCO 2018
On April 21st, 2018, thousands of people from the Bay Area will converge at Civic Center Plaza in the heart of San Francisco to celebrate Earth Day 2018 from 11am-7pm! We are partnering with the Save the Redwoods League to highlight their centennial anniversary in 2018. The theme for the League, and our theme for this year's Earth Day, is STAND FOR THE REDWOODS/STAND FOR THE FUTURE.

Speakers on the main stage include former California State Senator and San Francisco Mayoral candidate Mark Leno, San Francisco Supervisor and Mayoral candidate Jane Kim, former State Assemblyman Tom Ammiano, plus Jonathan Foley (ED CalAcademy), Sam Hodder (CEO Save the Redwoods League), and Lindsey Allen (ED Rainforest Action Network).

We will also feature a "Redwoods Canopy Tent" with speakers and panels featuring environmental luminaries from the California Academy of Science, the Save the Redwoods League, SF Sustainable Fashion Week and more throughout the day.

Performers on the main stage include DJ David Harness (house music); Karma Moffett playing Tibetan bowls and longhorns; Bayonics (reggae); Underground Nomads (Live Tribal, Fusion & Belly dancing, Global Beat DJs) with DJs Amar & Suresh, guest musicians, resident dance ensembles including Qabila Folkdance Co. and Fat Chance Belly Dance, Gadje Express (Balkan music), Chris Cane (blues); and Cyphers4Change (conscious hip-hop).
The event will feature Interactive D.I.Y. Workshops, Green-Economy and Businesses Info, Community Leaders, Civic Agencies, Youth Empowerment Groups, Green Tech Vendors, Fashion Show, and state and local politicians and activists who are actively working to address issues relating to the environment.
The public is promised an educational and fun filled experience with exposure to various informative & interactive learning activities such as our Organic Food Cooking Demos, the Green Kids Zone, and the Artist Grove. Join Musicians and Performers, Educators and Mentors, Artists and Artisans, Craftspeople, Civic and Community Leaders, Workshop Leaders, and Youth Activists and Social Justice Non-Profit organizations in this powerful day of green sustainability solutions.
This year's festival focuses on activating the public to energetically pursue effective green solutions and integrate these sustainable practices into everyday life. Our goal is to empower the people of the Bay Area and beyond to individually and collectively address the local and planetary environmental challenges we face.
